2017 MotoGP Testing Sepang February

This is MotoGP first 2017 test session (with more to follow later in February and March). We get a glimpse of what is to come for 2017 and so far - it looks very competitive.

Looking at the combined lap times at Sepang: Maverick Viñales comes on top (new Yamaha teammate to Valentino Rossi), followed by an energized Andrea Iannone (now with Suzuki) and third for Marc Marquez (looking to retain the title with Repsol Honda)

Here are the top 10 combined lap times @ Sepang:

Ducati with the fourth best lap time, at the hands of Andrea Dovizioso - while his new teammate, Jorge Lorenzo completed the top 10.

Pedrosa and Rossi did not make it to the top 5 but showed good pace (within +0.2 seconds from the leader). Same goes for Alvaro Bautista running the Ducati Desmosedici GP16 bike.

Casey Stoner (Ducati test rider) always impressive in his support Ducati Role.

Great work for Crutchlow that also made within the top 10.

Here selected pics of the team/rider changes that could very well mark how the 2017 season goes. We start with Maverick Viñales that surprised many in 2016 (with Suzuki) and now may be leading the Yamaha charge for 2017:

Former Ducati rider, Andrea Iannone, had to go to Suzuki to give space in Ducati for Jorge Lorenzo. The Suzuki have the speed to take some wins or the championship?

And the move that could either mark the win or loose for Jorge Lorenzo - repeating what Rossi did some years ago - Can Lorenzo win with Ducati?
