F1 Comparisons ahead of 2017 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix
Sebastian Vettel sits on top of the 2017 F1 standings with 2 wins and looks forward to win the 2017 Spanish Grand Prix - last time Vettel won Catalunya was in 2011. Long time ago, indeed.
Ferrari has impressed many this year, including Mercedes and Red Bull. Raw pace still goes to Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton 3 pole positions versus Vettel only 1 pole. But points matter, and Vettel has had 2 wins and two 2nd places:
2017 F1 Comparison: Vettel versus Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton had a poor performance in Russia, finishing only 4th place. The British driver also witnessed how his new teammate, Valteri Bottas, conquered glory for the first time. Bottas win in Russia (by only the 4th round this season) could play a key factor in the championship moving forward. If Bottas is able to pull more wins (before mid season), he will definitely try to get a shot at the championship!

And so, Hamilton is playing catch up now: to the Ferraris, and to that first win by Bottas. It will be interesting to see if Bottas can get ahead of Hamilton in terms of championship points. So far, Bottas have proven his value - what a good choice Mercedes did. For more: Valtteri Bottas and his 2017 Mercedes challenge
What of Kimi Raikkonen? We think the Finnish driver is taking longer (than Vettel) to get up to terms with the F1 2017 car regulations. It is only a matter of time for Raikkonen to react, and he definitely is looking for the right opportunity. His first podium was in Russia, so things from here can only improve, right?
